September Meeting

The 10 o’clock Beeline Beekeepers Club will hold its next monthly meeting of 2015 at 7 PM, on Monday, September 14, in one of the meeting rooms on the lower level of the Brown County Library in Nashville.  The major topics of discussion will be a wrap-up discussion of summer production, and preliminary preparations for overwintering our hives.  We welcome anyone interested in bees or beekeeping.  Individuals interested in starting a beehive are particularly encouraged to attend.  Experienced beekeepers in our club are available as mentors to anyone thinking about taking up this rewarding activity.  For more information, contact Tony Gaudin (765) 318-0525, or Mark Partridge (812) 988-9390.

August Meeting

July Meeting

May Meeting

Our next meeting will be at 7 pm, on Monday, May 11, at the Library in Nashville, IN. The major topic for discussion will be making splits. Mark Partridge will be the major presenter.

Plan on holding Saturday, June 20th open. There will be a Field Day at the Purdue Bee Lab with Dr. Greg Hunt. The event is sponsored by the Indiana State Beekeepers Association, and is a very popular hands-on day in the bee yards. We will have more information here in the next few weeks.

April Meeting

Our April 13th meeting will be at 7 pm, on the lower floor of the Library in Nashville.  The main topic for the evening will be a discussion on Spring Maintenance: once your bees have survived winter, what’s needed to get them primed for the spring nectar flows?

Looking ahead: On June 13th, Graham’s BeeWorks is hosting a Queen Rearing class taught by Mel Disselkoen from Michigan. Mel’s “On-the-spot” technique is an easy way for hobbyists to raise new queens. First Meeting of 2015
